Before and After Bar

So my mom and I have been working together for a client who is moving into a new apartment. Mary Elston has just graduated from Wofford and is moving into a Spartanburg apartment on Tuesday before she starts her new career as a middle school Spanish teacher and tennis coach.  We have been trying to be budget conscious and repurpose as much of her (parent's) existing furniture as possible. We didn't have much to work with, but we did find this pine armoire that we found a way to jazz up. We decided that instead of using it as a tv cabinet, as these were primarily used for in the past, we would cutesy it up and use it as a bar in her dining room.

I wasn't able to capture a picture of the true "before", but this is close enough!

The back of the piece is just a sheet of plywood. We fastened a piece of fabric in the back to add a pop of pattern and color. Instead of spending the money on fabric all of the way down, we decided that we would paint the bottom portion and separate the sections with a shelf.

We then striped off the inside of the armoire doors and painted them green.

And here is the finished product!
